In 2012, OSHA adopted a standardized way to label and inform workers about the hazards of handling, transporting, and storing chemicals. This standard has been under development by the United Nations for years, and is known as the Globally Harmonized System of Chemical Classification (GHS).
According to Federal laws, all of your employees must be trained in the GHS by December 1, 2013. Some manufacturers are already using GHS-compliant labels and material safety data sheets, and the December 1st requirement ensures that your employees can get the safety information that they need from the new labels and the instructor materials cover the changes from msds to the new Safety Data Sheet format.
Ready to be compliant?
The MarComm Consulting Globally Harmonized System Training Kit is actually a complete kit to train your employees and meet the compliance requirements of the December 1, 2013 deadline.
